Acţiunea ChişinEU – INTERVENŢII POETICE se încadrează într-un demers de radiografiere a spaţiului public din Chişinău prin prisma unor intervenţii artistice în care participanţii la acţiune au fost încurajaţi să-şi aproprieze anumite segmente de străzi, texte şi inscripţii ce se regăsesc pe faţadele clădirilor, panourile publicitare sau pe alte suprafeţe accesibile locuitorilor oraşului. Spaţiul public a jucat un rol important în procesul de acumulare a textelor şi a celorlalte materiale, servind drept sursă primară de obţinere a informaţiei şi determinînd în mare parte conţinutul lucrărilor create ulterior de participanţii la acţiune.
Deplasîndu-se prin Chişinău, într-un proces de explorare a urbei, ei deveneau preocupaţi de extragerea informaţiei şi scrierea textelor, iar corpurile lor se alăturau unui proces de activare a spaţiului prin care se deplasau, transformîndu-l într-un spaţiu de producţie şi diseminare a mesajelor.
Cele trei călătorii efectuate de artişti, scriitori, poeţi au favorizat cunoaşterea mai bună a oraşului şi a particularităţilor sale, oferind un cadru pentru acumularea informaţiei. Ele au dat contur unei metode directe de explorare a politicului, dar şi a socialului şi economicului înscrise pe faţadele zidurilor precum şi în inscripţiile anonime găsite de-a lungul celor trei artere principale ale oraşului, selectate deloc întîmplător.
Unul din scopurile acţiunii a fost identificarea mesajelor concepute de către chişinăueni şi exprimate în cuvinte şi texte înscrise în spaţiile publice, acestea din urmă urmînd a fi colectate (recuperate) în calitatea lor de surse şi de materie primară. În procesul survolării străzilor şi bulevardelor din Chişinău, s-a constatat însă o lipsă acută a vocii şi expresiei locuitorilor oraşului, acestea fiind pe alocuri bruiate, iar în alte cazuri înlocuite în totalitate cu firmele şi reclamele diverselor companii locale sau − mai multe − străine.
Se putea totodată observa stratificarea diferitelor discursuri şi tipuri de mesaje promovate, în dependenţă de caracterul acestora, fără ca ele să se întrepătrundă într-un fel sau în altul, identificînd astfel o lipsă a oricărei comunicări între guvernanţi, companiile private şi societatea civilă sau simplii cetăţeni, ceea ce denotă faptul că spaţiul public chişinăuean este vizibil marcat de interesele unor investitori şi structuri comerciale, dar şi de interesele unor grupuri politice care, în mare parte, exclud locuitorii urbei de la configurarea acesteia în conformitate cu necesităţile şi specificul său.
Publicaţia de faţă are menirea de a readuce vocea cetăţenilor în circuitul public prin intermediul textelor scrise de participanţii la proiectul ChişinEU – INTERVENŢII POETICE.

În aprilie 2010, Europa a fost paralizată de un nor de cenuşă ieşit dintr-un vulcan al cărui nume pot să îl pronunţe corect numai islandezii. În cealaltă parte a continentului, 10 poeţi au plecat să găsească poezia din norul de inscripţii publice pe care locuitorii Chişinăului le pot spune cel mai bine, dincolo de norii care i-au acoperit, ba de la est, ba de la vest.
Trei zile au mers cu troleibuzul.
Trei zile au mers pe jos.
Trei zile au citit şi au scris.
Şi toate acestea s-au întâmplat numai ca sa găsim punctul de întâlnire dintre poezie şi vocile de pe străzile Chişinăului de azi. Nu a trebuit să căutăm prea mult. Totuşi, este oraşul în care M. Eminescu şi V. Micle se întâlnesc în continuare, chiar între 31 August şi Bd. Ştefan cel Mare.
Am cartografiat numai trei străzi, cu nume istorice pentru Chişinău. Bulevardul Dacia, de la poţile oraşului până spre MallDova. Bulevardul Moscova, care urcă spre nord estul capitalei şi Calea Ieşilor, ce coboară uşor spre est. Pe fiecare stradă poţi găsi întregul oraş, la fel cum în fiecare oraş poţi întâlni întreaga lume. Cu toate motivaţiile ei politice: atât cea care ţine de amoros, cât şi cea influenţată de economic şi, inevitabil motivaţia politică inclusă în gastronomie.
Harta poetică a oraşului Chişinău este acum în mâinile oricui vrea să o dezvolte mai departe, iar profilul de pasăre, pe care îl schiţează oraşul moldovean pe orice hartă, este gata acum să îşi ia zborul spre cititori.

ChişinEU – POETIC INTERVENTIONS | April 16-23, 2010
The ChişinEU – POETIC INTERVENTIONS action is part of an attempt to radiography Chisinau’s public space through the light of artistic interventions, in which the participants in the action were encouraged to take hold of several streets segments, as well as texts and inscriptions on the facades of buildings, billboards or other surfaces, visible to the city’s inhabitants. Public space had an important role in the process of accumulating texts and other materials, being a primary source of information and influencing capitally the content of the works that the participants in the action produced later. Strolling through Chisinau, in a process of exploring the city, they became preoccupied with extracting information and writing texts, and their bodies joined a process of activating the space through which they moved, transforming it in a space of message production and dissemination.
The three journeys taken by the artists, writers and poets allowed them to familiarize better with the city and its specificity, offering a frame for information acquiring. They outlined a direct method for exploring the political, but also the social and economical, inscribed on the walls’ facades and in the anonymous inscriptions found along the three main city highways, selected according to a specific objective.
One of the action’s aims was to identify messages that the inhabitants of Chisinau conceived and expressed by the means of words and texts inscribed in public spaces; these were supposed to be collected (recuperated) as sources and raw material. During the examination of Chisinau streets and boulevards, the participants remarked a severe lack of voice and expression on the part of the city’s inhabitants, these being in some cases jammed, and in other – replaced by painted boards and advertisings belonging to various local – or, more often, foreign – companies.
At the same time, the layering of different discourses and types of messages could be observed and promoted depending on their particularities, without them intertwining in any way, making thus manifest the lack of almost any communication between the government representatives, private companies and civil society or simple citizens, which proves that Chisinau public space is visibly marked by the interests of some investors and commercial structures, but also by the interests of political groups that, for the most part, exclude the city inhabitants from configuring it according to their needs and specifics.
The present publication aims at reintroducing the citizens’ voice in the public circuit, by the means of texts written by participants in ChişinEU – POETIC INTERVENTIONS project.

In April 2010, an ash cloud generated by a volcano whose name only Icelandic speakers can pronounce correctly, paralyzed Europe. At the other end of the continent, 10 poets embarked on a search for poetry in the cloud of public inscriptions that Chisinau’s inhabitants can tell better, beyond the clouds covering them, either from the East, or from the West.
They went by trolley-bus for three days.
They went on foot for three days.
They read and wrote for three days.
And all this happened only in order to find the meeting point between poetry and the voices from today’s Chisinau streets. We didn’t have to search for too long. Still, it is the city where M. Eminescu and V. Micle meet even now, just between August, 31 and Stefan cel Mare Bd.
We mapped only three streets, with historical names for Chisinau: Dacia Boulevard, from the city gates until MallDova, Moscow Boulevard, which goes up to the North-East of the Capital, and The Iasi Highway, which goes slightly down to the West. On each street you can find the whole city, the same way in a city you can meet the whole world. With all its political motivations: both the one belonging to romance, and the one influenced by the economic and, inevitably, the political motivation included in gastronomy.
The poetic map of Chisinau is now in the hands of anyone who wants to develop it further, and the bird profile that the Moldovan city sketches on any map is ready now to fly towards the readers.
