Dragostea în epoca de piatră, în Roma antică şi în „epoca modernă“ (în SUA anilor 1920)- în toate cele trei epoci un Buster Keaton fragil este nevoit să lupte pentru a salva relaţia cu frumoasa lui iubită. Poveştile urmăresc acelaşi tipar: Buster face curte unei fete, dar este respins de către părinţii ei, fiindcă există un rival care este mai puternic (epoca de piatră), mai influent (Roma antică) sau mai bogat (prezent). Three Ages is a black-and-white American feature-length silent comedy film starring comedian Buster Keaton and Wallace Beery. The first feature Keaton wrote, directed, produced, and starred in (unlike The Saphead (1920), in which he only acted), Keaton structured the film like three inter-cut short films. The structure also worked as a satire of D. W. Griffith’s 1916 film Intolerance (source: wikipedia).

Cheng Huan este un misionar al carui unic scop in viata este acela de a aduce invataturile lui Buddha in lumea civilizata Anglo-Saxona.Odata ce va pasi in Anglia va realiza ca nu este ceea ce se astepta el,fiind coplesit de deziluzii intro lume plina de apatie si intoleranta.Se va angaja la un mic butic,iar intro seara,privind pe fereastra o va observa pe Lucy Burrows,o tanara ajunsa intro stare de nedescris din cauza tatalui ei care o batea de nenumarate ori si nu avea grija de ea,tinuta ei fiind de asemenea intro stare deplorabila.Chiar si asa,Cheng o va vedea ca pe o adevarata printesa si se va indragosti de ea intro clipita.Intruna din zile,tanara va lesina chiar in fata magazinului,iar Cheng motivat doar de dragostea ce io purta va avea grija de ea,ii va oferi hrana si o va imbraca in matase fina.Fiind slabita va petrece noaptea in magazin cu Cheng,care o va veghea dea lungul noptii.Toata linistea si fericirea va fi brusc intrerupta in momentul in care tatal fetei va afla ca fiica lui isi petrece timpul cu un strain,iar Chong va trebui sa faca fata situatiei (sursa: http://www.cinemarx.ro).

Conform unei vechi legende scandinave, in noaptea Sfantului Silvestru – cea din urma din an – Caruta Fantoma, incarcata cu sufletele pacatosilor, isi schimba vizitiul cu ultimul nelegiuit care moare in anul respectiv. Silit sa-si rememoreze toate faptele rele savarsite de-a lungul vietii, David Holm (interpretat de catre Victor Sjostrom insusi) are toate motivele sa se teama de trecerea inspaimantatoarei carute a mortii si sa-si doreasca disperat mantuirea, inainte ca orologiul sa bata miezul noptii.

The Phantom Carriage (Swedish: Körkarlen) is a 1921 Swedish romantic horror film, generally considered to be one of the central works in the history of Swedish cinema. It is based on the novel Thy Soul Shall Bear Witness! (Körkarlen; 1912), by Nobel-prize winning Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf.
The film is notable for its special effects, its advanced (for the time) narrative structure with flashbacks within flashbacks, and for having been a major influence on Ingmar Bergman.
