În urma seriei de proiecte cu titlul INTERVENȚII (2006-2008) Asociația Oberliht a lansat, în 2009, proiectul CHIOȘC, întruchipat în APARTAMENTUL DESCHIS – un punct de informare cultural şi o platformă publică pentru participare, care oferă continuitate acțiunilor realizate anterior și se prezintă drept alternativă instituțiilor de cultură moștenite din perioada comunistă. Instalat pe un mic segment al teritoriului municipal, strecurat printre maşinile care ocupă în mod agresiv trotuarele, APARTAMENTUL DESCHIS joacă rolul unui agent activ caracterizat prin implicare civică conform unui model »de jos în sus«, interpretând angajamentul cultural ca acţiune socială şi generând, astfel, cultură critică. Activităţile desfăşurate în cadrul acestuia ţin de cele mai importante aspecte ale relaţiei cu spaţiul care îl înconjoară, una dintre preocupările majore fiind problema spaţiului public. Într-un sens mai larg, proiectul oferă premisele pentru o analiză a realităţilor culturale, sociale şi politice ale uneia dintre suburbiile Europei.

KIOSK catalogue

Following the series of projects titled INTERVENTIONS (2006-2008) Oberliht association launched the KIOSK project in 2009. Embodied in FLAT SPACE – a cultural information point and a platform for public participation, it aims to provide continuity to the previously organized activities and offer an alternative within a cultural sector dominated by institutions inherited from the Communist period. Installed on a tiny segment of municipal ground, squeezed in between cars aggressively taking over the sidewalks, FLAT SPACE plays the role of an active agent of bottom-up civic involvement, understanding cultural engagement as social action capable of producing a critical culture. The activities built around it address, in its immediate surroundings, the urgent question of public space. In a broader way the project offers the basis for the analysis of the cultural, social and political realities of one of Europe’s suburbs.

CHIOȘC-ul din plastic

Această lucrare constă din mai multe obiecte și piese de mobilier făcute din material reciclate. Ea a apărut ca să ofere o soluție împotriva poluării și a consumerismului.
Efectele supraproducției de plastic afectează atât de mult planeta, încât plasticul a intrat în lanțul nostru alimentar.
Pe de o parte, acest material chiar ne ușurează viața cotidiană, obiectele confecționate din el sunt mai luminoase și reistente, nu păstrează urme când le atingi, nu sunt toxice (dacă nu le digeri), toate accesoriile tehnologice sunt din plastic, chiar și caroseria sau air-bag-urile care ne pot salva în caz de accidente.
Altă calitate a acestui material e faptul că poate fi reciclat. Un pet poate fi folosit un timp îndelungat, un computer stricat poate fi transformat în noi și noi obiecte! Reciclând plasticul, am putea profita de calitățile sale și în același timp am controla supraproducția. Astfel, am avea posibilitatea să controlăm capitalismul și consumerismul. Transformând un obiect de care nu mai avem nevoie în altul, evităm să cumpărăm ceva nou. Într-o țara ca Moldova, unde sărăcia încă mai e o mare problemă, în timp ce capitalismul european crește, eu cred că e important să păstrăm mediul, să reciclăm și să învățăm oamenii să facă la fel.
Cumpărând lucruri noi în fiecare zi nu înseamnă că susținem economia, asta doar mărește numărul necesităților noastre false, umple Pământul cu gunoi și sufocă ecosistemul care menține umanitatea în viață.

Fiecare dintre prietenii mei are mai multe motive din care fumează. Pentru că îmi petrec majoritatea timpului cu ei, am încercat să mă identific cu gașca folosind aceeași chestie – țigara, doar că în scopuri diferite. Am început să fac din ea floricele. După ce le-am făcut tuturor și nimeni nu-mi mai dădea țigări, am mers mai departe. Mi le-am cumpărat pe ale mele, am făcut multe flori și le-am propus oamenilor de pe stradă, în schimbul unei țigări de-a lor, ca o alternativă mai frumoasă fumatului. Pe cele obținute le-am transformat în alte flori, pe care Diana le-a folosit ca decor pentru mobila ei de plastic. Astfel, în fiecare vază în care am pus floricele am adunate vreo 30 de minute din viețile diferitor oameni.

Plastic Chiosc

This work consists of different objects and furniture made of recycled materials and it’s born to give a solution against pollution and consumerism.
The effects of the overproduction of plastic affect so much the planet, that plastic entered in our food chain already.
On the one one hand, this material actually makes our lives easier, the objects that nowaday are made out of it are more light and resistant, they don’t leave any residues when you touch them, they aren’t toxic (except if you digest them), all the technology’s accessories are in plastic, including the car body and their airbags that can save us in case of accident.
Another great quality of this material is it can be always recycled! A plastic bottle can be used for years and a broken computer can be smelt again and again in another objects! Recycling plastic we could take advantage of this interesting material and in the same tame we could control the over-production of plastic itself. In this way,  we could have the possibility to control the phenomenon of consumerism and capitalism.
When we transform an object we don’t need in another one, we avoid to buy something new. In a country like Moldova, where the poverty is still a big problem, while the European capitalism is growing, I think it is important to keep the habit, to recycle and teach it to the new middle-class generation.
Buying new stuff every day doesn’t make the economy run, as they told us, it just augments the number of our fake needs, fills the Earth with trash and suffocates the ecosystem that keeps alive the humanity.

Recycle your 5 minutes!

Each of my friends smokes from different reasons. I spend most of my time with them, that’s why I tried to identify myself with my group, so I used the same thing – a cigarette, but in a different purpose. I began to make flowers from it. After I’ve done some for all my friends, no one gave me cigarettes any more, I was “wasting” them. I went further, I bought some , transformed them into a lot of flowers and I offered them to strangers on the road. In exchange, I asked for a cigarette of their. Diana used them to decorate her plastic furniture. So, in every vase we’ve put flowers, we gathered like 30 minutes from different stranger’s lives.

Invitație de a schimba bunuri cu caracter cultural

După succesul târgurilor culturale din ultimile luni, Oberliht vrea sa continuie această idee și va organiza noi târguri culturale la APARTAMENT DESCHIS, începand de mâine și până se răcește timpul.

De data asta, târgul nu va avea o tema specifică. Scopul este transformarea APARTAMENT-ului într-o platformă unde oamenii pot veni și face schimb de orice bunuri cu caracter cultural pe care le au și care ar vrea sa fie văzute sau citite si de altcineva. Poți de exemplu sa lași o carte și să iai un CD sau orice altceva lăsat deja de cineva. Oricine e binevenit să aducă plăci de vinil, cărți, CD-uri,  casete, DVD-uri, postere, reviste etc… Ca de obicei, APARTAMENT-ul va fi deschis de la 14:00 la 18:00 ca să vii și să faci schimb. APARTAMENT-ul DESCHIS include de asemenea un salon unde ești binevenit să stai, să comunici, să citești, să dezbați, sâ dansezi, sa asculti muzică sau să cânți, pe parcursul și după târg.

Înafară de asta, ne-ar plăcea ca APARTAMENT-ul să devină o platformă DESCHISă pentru ateliere si performance-uri. Deci, dacă ești artist sau cunoști vreun artist caruia i-ar plăcea să arate din lucrările si cunostintele sale la APARTAMENT, ești binevenit să ne contactezi ca să te ajutăm să organizezi și să mediatizezi evenimentul.

Târgul Cultural de Vechituri este un eveniment aproape similar cu un târg de vechituri obișnuit, doar că aici se încurajează schimbul de bunuri fără a se face uz de bani. Fiecare eveniment din seria Târgului Cultural de Vechituri va avea o tema, iar bunurile care vor fi propuse la târg trebuie sa corespunda acelei temei. Scopul târgului nu este de a vinde, ci de a face schimb si partaja.

Acest eveniment beneficiază de susținerea Fundației Culturale Europene, Direcției Cultură a Municipiului Chișinau si a Ministerului Tineretului și Sportului al Republicii Moldova.

Exchange and sharing of cultural goods

After the succes of the previous Cultural Flea Markets of these last months, Oberliht wants to pursue with this idea and will organise new Cultural Flea Markets at FLAT SPACE each Saturday from now until the weather turns too cold.

This time, there will be no specific topic attached to the Flea Market. The aim is to transform the FLAT SPACE into a platform where you can come, exchange and share any kind of cultural materials that you have and that you would like to be viewed or read by somebody else. You can simply leave a book and take a CD or anything else that someone else has already left. Everybody is welcome to bring books, CDs, Vynils, cassettes, DVDs, posters, magazines etc… As usual, FLAT SPACE will be open from 2 to 6 pm for you to come, share and exchange. FLAT SPACE also comprise a living room where you are very welcome to stay, to chat, to read, to debate, to dance, to listen to music, to play your music before, during and after the market.

Besides, we would like the FLAT SPACE to be a place for workshops and performances. So if you are an artist or if you know an artist that would like to share a piece of his art and knowledge at FLAT SPACE, you are very welcome to contact us so that we help you to organise and comunicate about it.

The Cultural Flea Market is a cultural event very similar to a flea market, but on this Cultural Flea Market you can only exchange or share, so no use of money. Every Cultural Flea Market will have a theme, and the things that will be exchanged or shared should stay within the theme.

Miercuri, 7 aprilie 2010, la orele 16:00 vă invităm în APARTAMENT-ul DESCHIS la vernisajul lucrării Protest în vînt, care va fi urmată de acţiunea Compot pentru Cultură şi de concertul oferit de formaţia No Shagga.

Protest în Vînt
Protest în Vînt este o intervenţie artistică în spaţiul APARTAMENT-ului DESCHIS, care a fost realizată de Diana AROSIO, Helen BRANDT, Felix REISBECK şi Vladimir US. Lucrarea preia drept punct de plecare evenimentele din aprilie 2009 şi este dedicată libertăţii de exprimare precum şi accesului liber la informaţie. Publicul a fost invitat să-şi exprime părerea, opinia şi sentimentele privind evenimentele din 7 aprilie 2009 prin aplicarea unui mesaj pe hainele personale, oferindu-ni-le apoi pentru a fi prezentate în APARTAMENT-ul DESCHIS. Prin intermediul acestei acţiuni ne-am propus să comunicăm într-un mod diferit, dar eficient, despre libertate şi valorile ei şi aceasta fără a recurge la violenţă.

Lucrarea putea fi văzută pînă pe 16 aprilie 2010.

Compot pentru Cultură
Compot pentru Cultură este un mod experimental şi delicios de finanţare alternativă a artei. Costul unui compot este de 5 lei, iar suma adunată va fi oferită sub forma unui Grant al Compotului pentru Cultură formaţiei No Shagga. Compotul va fi servit începând cu ora 16:00.

We are welcoming you at FLAT SPACE on Wednesday the 7^th of April 2010, at 4 pm for the opening of the artistic project “Wind protest”. The opening will be followed by “Compote for Culture” and a concert by the band No Shagga.

Wind Protest
“Wind protest” is an artistic intervention that is presented in the FLAT SPACE and is connected to the April 2009 events. It was realized by Diana AROSIO, Helen BRANDT, Felix REISBECK and Vladimir US. The work itself makes reference to the freedom of expression and access to information. We invited the public to write their statements, opinions and feelings related to 7th of April events down on a piece of cloth and bring it to us so that we could present them publicly in the FLAT SPACE. Through this work we would like to communicate differently, more effectively and without violence. The work was accessible to the publics till 16^th of April 2010.

Compote for Culture
Compote for culture is a delicious and experimental approach to alternative arts funding. It will cost 5 lei per portion. All of the profit generated from the event will be given to support the band No Shagga in the form of a Compote for Culture Grant. The compote will be servered starting with 4 pm.

Casa este unul din lucrurile cele mai importante în viaţa unui om, iar prin intermediul My home este casa ta vreau să demonstrez că APARTAMENT-ul DESCHIS este o casă ce aparţine oraşului. Dacă urmăreşti subiectul şi simbolurile vei începe să cunoşti apartamentul şi să te simţi în el ca acasă. Vreau ca apartamentul să fie o bucăţică din casa ta, un loc în care te poţi întoarce mereu.

Diana AROSIO este o tînără artistă din Italia, voluntară în cadrul Serviciului european de voluntariat, care lucrează la Asociaţia Oberliht şi se afla în Moldova pînă la sfîrşitul anului curent. A creat acest proiect în colaborare cu Felix Reisbeck, Helen Brandt şi Vladimir Us, cu intenţia de a face APARTAMENT-ul DESCHIS mai accesibil publicului.

A home is one of the most important things in a person’s life and I want with My home este casa ta show that FLAT SPACE is a home belonging to the city. If you follow the line and symbols you will get to know the flat and feel familiar with it. I want the flat to be a piece of your own home that you always can come back to. The title refers to the Spanish saying “Mi casa es tu casa”.

Diana Arosio is a young Italian artist who is a European Voluntary Service volunteer working at Oberliht Association till the end of this year. In collaboration with Felix Reisbeck, Helen Brandt and Vladimir Us she created her project, aiming to make FLAT SPACE more accessible to the public.
